To ask the Minister of Education to detail any engagement his Department has had with the National Museums NI network in the drafting of the draft 2028 curriculum to ensure that the curriculum relevantly connects with our local museums.

My department has not had direct engagement with National Museums Northern Ireland in drafting the proposed Curriculum 2028 subject frameworks.

The frameworks were developed by local academics, curriculum specialists and practising teachers. National Museums Northern Ireland contributed to the wider evidence base during the Strategic Review of the Northern Ireland Curriculum and, like all stakeholders, has had the opportunity to provide views through the current public consultation.

All consultation responses will be carefully considered before final recommendations on the curriculum framework are made.
