Answer
The timeliness and appropriateness of placements for learners with special educational needs and disability will be monitored under the SEN Reform Outcomes Framework population indicator ‘Effectiveness of SEN/D services: % of children and young people who transition successfully between education stages'.
The following population indicators will also provide data on the timeliness and appropriateness of school placements from a parental perspective: % of parents and carers satisfied with the quality and timeliness of SEN/D support their child receives; and % of parents and carers who report that their child’s needs are being met in a timely manner.
As indicated in the SEN Reform Outcomes Framework, a performance level report card will be developed for each action within the SEN Reform Delivery Plan as they are progressed and will include reporting against agreed performance measures. This will include the actions under ‘Timely Confirmation of School Placements’.
