Answer
Road safety remains a high priority for my Department and we are committed to working proactively to make our roads safer and address the needs of all road users.
(i) I can advise that an uncontrolled crossing with a pedestrian refuge island will be provided as part of planned resurfacing works. This will be located within the hatched area near the Texaco garage to aid pedestrians in crossing the A22 Killinchy Road safely.
(ii) I am pleased to announce that resurfacing of the A22 Killinchy Road, Comber from the A21 Newtownards Road to Drumhirk Road is programmed to commence 2nd June 2025.
