Answer
My Department is aware of the condition of Pound Bridge. While the spalled concrete and exposed steelwork is unsightly, the Department’s structural engineers have examined the bridge and are content with its integrity and that it is safe for public use.
My Department is currently planning to take forward a detailed survey in the next two months that will inform a substantive repair of the bridge. A timeframe for taking forward the full repair works is not known at this stage.
In the meantime, my Department will continue to monitor the bridge to ensure it remains safe for public use.
