Answer
Each Further Education college provides a range of training and support for lecturing and support staff so that they can meet the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities. Recent examples of training undertaken by college staff include examination access arrangements training, behavior management training and supporting learner resilience and wellbeing training.
Where students have specific conditions that require tailored support, Further Education colleges provide bespoke training to staff to assist them in meeting this need, for example, supporting neurodiversity in education training is provided to staff who are delivering targeted support for neurodiverse learners.
This training ensures that Further Education college staff are appropriately equipped to provide the best possible educational provision to students with special educational needs and disabilities.
