Answer

The Scoil Spreagtha scheme is an operational matter for Foras na Gaeilge.

The Chief Executive has provided the following assessment of the success of Scoil Spreagtha:

“While the scheme has not yet completed for this funding cycle and therefore no final post-project evaluation is available, we are confident that the scheme is successfully delivering upon its objectives. Research carried out by Ulster University suggests that teachers feel empowered by the various support structures and are confident with the materials provided.

Teachers have reported that pupils have embraced the opportunity to learn the language and are engaging fully in the activities. Parents have also relayed their satisfaction that the opportunity has been provided for their children to learn Irish.”

For any future queries relating to operational matters, you may wish to contact the Foras na Gaeilge directly at ceisteanna@forasnagaeilge.ie. Making direct contact with the ALB will ensure that you receive the information in the shortest possible timeframe and make best use of public resources.
