Answer

The Department has not undertaken a formal comparative assessment of the services provided by Find Help NI and Minding your Head, initiatives which provide a directory of service for mental health support. I understand that Find Help NI has conducted a comparative assessment of both services.

Find Help NI is a community resource that places emphasis on personal stories, blogs and videos and provides a directory of support organisations that charge for services and those that provide free or subsidised services. Find Help NI was previously funded through the Mental Health Support Fund. Community Foundation Northern Ireland, as administrators of the Mental Health Support Fund provided the Department with regular updates of the services delivered, ensuring they adhered to the fund terms and conditions.

Minding Your Head is supported by the Public Health Agency, through the Protect Life 2 Strategy. The Minding Your Head website provides information only on services that are free of charge. Separate booklets for each Trust area are also provided on Minding Your Head listing local services.
