Answer
The Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) was commissioned to undertake a thematic evaluation of the preventative curriculum in schools and EOTAS centres. During the period November 2021 to June 2022, the ETI engaged with primary, post-primary and special schools and EOTAS centres to collate their views and experiences of delivering the preventative curriculum. Over 14,000 pupils provided views about how well they are learning to make informed choices and keep themselves safe.
The findings were published in April 2023 in the report entitled 'The Preventative Curriculum in Schools and Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) Centres’ please see link to the published report: https://www.etini.gov.uk/sites/etini.gov.uk/files/publications/the-preventative-curriculum-in-schools-and-education-other-than-at-school-eotas-centres_0.pdf. ETI hosted a series of dissemination events to share key findings from the evaluation and provide an opportunity for practitioners to discuss the delivery of the preventative curriculum within their school.
