To ask the Minister of Education (i) whether local integrated teams are to be funded to meet the significant backlog of unmet need within the Special Educational Needs population; and (ii) whether they are to be cost neutral for 2024-25.

ANSWER
The Education Authority (EA) has not at this point confirmed any additional funding requirement to implement the proposed new Local Integrated Teams (LITs) model.
If received, this will be considered by the Department of Education (DE)/EA Special Educational Needs (SEN) Programme Board and any additional funding required will be considered in the context of the 2024/25 budget position.
