In line with its duty under the Integrated Education Act 2022, the Department published an Integrated Education Action Plan on 26 April 2023 as a constituent part of the first strategy for Integrated Education. That action plan committed DE to fifteen specific actions in delivering implementation of the Act and forms the basis of the Department’s implementation plans.
Since publishing the Action Plan, the Department has continued to engage with education partners alongside regular meetings with key stakeholders, to take forward the actions as set out. Currently seven actions have been completed and eight are actively progressing through consultation with key stakeholders.
A public consultation was held on the Action Plan, which commenced on 31 August 2023 and closed on 30 November 2023. A total of 176 responses were received to the online consultation. In addition, the Department hosted two online events to provide further opportunities to gather views from a range of interested parties.
