Answer
As part of its Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Transformation Programme, the Education Authority (EA) is proposing to adopt a new delivery model for its Special Educational Needs (SEN) Pupil Support Services involving the creation of five new Local Integrated Teams (LITs), with the aim of delivering better outcomes for children and young people with SEN.
In accordance with the EA’s current plans, the new LITs are proposed to be in place by September 2024.
The EA is currently undertaking a programme of stakeholder engagement including with schools and parents. The outcomes of this engagement will inform further development of the proposed delivery model.
